Camera Exchange and Midwest Photography Workshops are pleased to co-host The First Saturday Lectures.

On the first Saturday of each month, Bryce Denison will present a 1 1/2-hour lecture/demonstration on some facet of photography from 10:30 AM to Noon for an entrance fee of $25.00. After a one-hour lunch break, Bryce will present a different 2 1/2-hour lecture/demonstration from 1:00-3:30 PM for an entrance fee of $35.00. Each month will feature a different facet of a photographic technique.

This 1 1/2-hour lecture will provide the attendee with information about editing your images in either Adobe Lightroom or Adobe Camera RAW.  (They use the same computer engine.) So this lecture is relevant for both Lightroom and Photoshop.  Learn about what the editing sliders do and which order they should be applied. It makes a difference.  Learn about the tools available in Adobe Camera RAW and how they can dramatically enhance your good shooting. Don't be afraid to experiment with editing because Adobe Camera RAW and Adobe Lightroom both use a non-destructive editing process, so anything and everything you do can be completely undone and the file returned back to its original form. Learn to crop the image, get rid of dust spots and enhance color, tone, hue and brightness to make your final image look the way you want.  Know when to stop the editing process. This program is especially important with Adobe's latest software upgrade in masking and selections.

This 2 1/2-hour program will take the B&W film photographer back to the glory days when the only way to make premium black and white prints was in the wet darkroom.  Not anymore!  Modern day ink jet printers can now surpass wet darkroom prints in every way!  Learn about NIK Silver Effects and NIK High Dynamic Range (HDR) programs. Learn about the Biology of seeing in color but then the mental process to shoot in color, then converting it to a Black and White image for maximum effect. How does one learn to see in Black and white.  We will include some brief information about how to use high resolution scanners if some of your best work was done on film in order to digitize the images. So this program is suitable for all!
