This makes the camera significantly larger and heavier (weighing nearly 2.5 pounds) than standard mirrorless bodies. It requires a dedicated, deep camera bag for transport and uses the large, high-capacity Canon LP-E19 battery.

Secondly, to handle the staggering amount of data generated by shooting RAW bursts at 40 frames per second and recording 6K RAW video, the camera requires CFexpress Type B memory cards in both slots. It does not accept standard SD cards, so you must factor in the cost of high-speed CFexpress media if you are upgrading from an older camera system.

Finally, while the 24.2-megapixel sensor is optimized for blistering readout speeds and incredible low-light performance, it prioritizes speed over massive resolution. If you shoot strictly studio portraits or fine-art landscapes and require extreme native resolution for heavy cropping, you may want to explore the 45-megapixel EOS R5 Mark II instead.
