Things to Note
To unlock the absolute maximum performance of the R5 Mark II—specifically the fastest continuous burst speeds, 8K video, and pre-capture features—you must use the new LP-E6P battery. While older LP-E6NH batteries will turn the camera on, they will severely limit its capabilities.
Furthermore, 8K RAW video generates a massive amount of heat. If you plan on shooting long, continuous takes of high-framerate 8K or 4K video, you may need to invest in the optional CF-R20EP cooling fan grip to prevent the camera from overheating. Finally, while the included 24-105mm lens is incredibly versatile, its f/4 maximum aperture won't provide the extreme background blur or low-light gathering capabilities of a faster f/2.8 zoom or prime lens.
