Godox AD200Pro II TTL Pocket Flash

Redefining Portable Lighting for Photographers

Released in late 2024, the Godox AD200Pro II TTL Pocket Flash is the highly anticipated successor to one of the most popular off-camera flashes ever made. Like the original, it is a 200-watt-second (200Ws) battery-powered strobe that packs the power of three standard speedlights into a rectangular body about the size of a thick camera lens.

Its defining feature remains its modular, interchangeable flash heads, allowing you to swap between a standard directional speedlite head (H200 II) and a 360-degree bare-bulb head (H200J II) depending on how you need to shape your light.

What’s New in the Mark II?

While it keeps the same form factor and 2900mAh battery as its predecessor, the AD200Pro II introduces major quality-of-life and performance upgrades:

  • Bi-Color Modeling Lamps on Both Heads: Both the speedlite and bare-bulb heads now feature bright, adjustable continuous LED modeling lights. You can adjust the color temperature from 2800K to 6000K, allowing you to use them to pre-visualize your flash or even as a portable continuous video/fill light.

  • Active Cooling: The upgraded heads now feature built-in motorized fans for improved heat dissipation, drastically reducing the chance of overheating during rapid-fire shooting.

  • Wider Power Range: The flash output can now be dialed all the way down to 1/512 power in precise 0.1-stop increments (the original stopped at 1/256). This makes it much easier to use the flash in low-light environments or with wide-open apertures.

  • One-Tap Sync & Color-Coded Groups: When paired with the new Godox X3 wireless trigger, you can pair the flash to your camera with a single tap—no more digging through channels and IDs. It also features a "Group Color Indicator" light on the back, displaying a distinct color (red, blue, green, etc.) that matches the X3 trigger, making it instantly clear which light you are adjusting in a multi-light setup.

  • Upgraded Screen & Power Port: It features a new, vibrant TFT full-color display for better visibility outdoors. Godox also added a dedicated power port to connect external power packs (like the PB960) for even faster recycling times.

Who is it for?

The AD200Pro II is the ultimate "middle-ground" light for location portrait, wedding, and real estate photographers. It is substantially more powerful than a hot-shoe flash (allowing you to easily overpower the sun through a softbox), yet compact enough to fit into a standard camera bag without the heavy stands and sandbags required for larger 400Ws or 600Ws studio monolights.

Compatibility Note: The AD200Pro II is backwards compatible with the older Mark I flash heads, but you will need the newer H200 II / H200J II heads to take advantage of the bi-color modeling lamps and enhanced cooling.
