Godox DP1000III-V Professional Studio Flash
The High-Output Workhorse for Professional Studios
When you need to overpower intense ambient light, shoot with massive light modifiers, or maintain a deep depth of field (like f/8 or f/11) for commercial product photography, standard speedlights simply won't cut it. The Godox DP1000III-V is a heavy-duty, 1000Ws AC-powered monolight built specifically for demanding studio environments.
As an upgraded "-V" model, Godox has replaced the traditional, heat-generating halogen modeling lamp of the older DP series with a bright, cool-running 30W LED. This makes it significantly safer and more comfortable to use for long portrait or fashion sessions, delivering incredible power and consistency at a price point that makes outfitting a multi-light studio incredibly affordable.
Why You'll Love This Flash
-
Massive 1000Ws Output: With a staggering Guide Number of 140m (459 ft) at ISO 100, this flash delivers enough raw power to fill enormous softboxes, bounce light across large cyclorama walls, or shoot highly detailed group portraits at base ISO.
-
Upgraded LED Modeling Lamp: The new 30W LED modeling lamp draws very little power, runs cool, and allows you to accurately preview where your shadows will fall without turning your studio into a sauna. It can be set proportionally to the flash output or manually adjusted.
-
Seamless Wireless Control: It features a built-in 2.4GHz receiver natively compatible with the Godox System X. You can trigger the flash, adjust its power remotely from 1/64 to 1/1, and control the modeling lamp directly from your camera using any Godox XPro, X2T, or X3 transmitter.
-
Universal Bowens Mount: The industry-standard Bowens S-mount on the front of the flash opens up access to thousands of light modifiers—from massive parabolic softboxes and beauty dishes to snoots and gels—from both Godox and third-party manufacturers.
-
Fast & Consistent: Despite its massive power output, it recycles to full power in just 1.0 second, ensuring you rarely miss a shot during fast-paced fashion or portrait sessions. It also maintains a highly stable 5800K (±200K) color temperature across its power range.

Things to Note
Unlike Godox's popular AD series (like the AD600 Pro), the DP1000III-V is a traditional studio strobe, meaning it does not have a battery. It must be plugged into a standard AC wall outlet (100-240V) to function, making it ideal for permanent indoor studio setups rather than on-location outdoor shoots.
Additionally, this is a fully Manual flash. It does not support TTL (Through-The-Lens) automatic metering or HSS (High-Speed Sync). You will need to manually adjust your power settings and keep your camera at or below its maximum flash sync speed (typically 1/200th or 1/250th of a second). Because it packs a massive capacitor to deliver 1000Ws of power, it is also quite heavy (7.5 lbs) and bulky, requiring heavy-duty C-stands or robust light stands to support it safely, especially when paired with large modifiers.
