Unlike the Godox V1 or V1Pro, which feature premium circular flash heads, the V860III uses a traditional rectangular flash tube. While it is incredibly powerful and excellent for bouncing off ceilings, if you point it directly at a subject without a modifier, it will produce the harsher edges and rectangular catchlights typical of standard speedlights. It is also not natively compatible with the Godox AK-R1 magnetic accessory kit unless you purchase a separate S-R1 adapter bracket.

Additionally, because it is a full-sized, heavy-duty speedlight with a massive lithium battery, it is relatively heavy (over a pound). While it balances perfectly on professional full-frame bodies like the Sony a7R V or a9 III, it may feel a bit top-heavy if mounted on compact, crop-sensor bodies like the a6700 or ZV-E10.
