The absolute most critical factor before purchasing the EH-7P is understanding battery compatibility. This adapter will only charge EN-EL15c and EN-EL15b batteries when they are inside the camera. It will NOT charge older EN-EL15a or original EN-EL15 batteries (those older gray/black batteries must be removed and charged in the traditional MH-25a wall charger).

Secondly, you must understand how this specific adapter handles power delivery compared to the newer EH-8P. The EH-7P is designed primarily for charging while the camera is turned off. If you turn the camera on while the EH-7P is plugged in, the charging will pause, and the camera will operate using the battery's power. If you need a power adapter capable of providing continuous, unlimited wall power to the camera while you are actively shooting or recording video, you must upgrade to the newer Nikon EH-8P.

Finally, please note that the USB-C cable is permanently attached to the charging brick. You cannot detach the cable to use it for data transfer, nor can you easily swap it for a longer cable if the outlet is far away.
