First and foremost, it is important to remember that the EN-EL15c batteries are sold separately. The grip does not include any lithium-ion batteries in the box, so you will need to purchase additional batteries if you want to utilize its dual-slot capacity right away. While it will accept older EN-EL15a and EN-EL15b batteries, you cannot charge the EN-EL15a via the USB-C port.

Secondly, attaching the grip significantly increases the overall size and weight of your camera rig. It transforms a compact mirrorless body into something resembling a traditional, bulky flagship DSLR (like the Z9). If you are buying a mirrorless camera specifically to keep your travel bag as small and light as possible, this grip defeats that purpose.

To install the grip, you must physically remove the battery door from your camera body. Ensure you securely stash your camera's battery door in a safe place (or in a dedicated slot if provided) so you don't lose it while the grip is attached.
