Nikon Z8 Mirrorless Digital Camera with NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S Lens Kit
The Ultimate Professional Hybrid Setup
For professional photographers, hybrid shooters, and serious enthusiasts who want the uncompromising power of Nikon's flagship Z9 but in a significantly more compact package, the Nikon Z8 paired with the NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S lens is arguably the most versatile kit on the market today. Often referred to as the "baby Z9," the Z8 inherits its larger sibling's ground-breaking technology—including the 45.7-megapixel stacked CMOS sensor and the EXPEED 7 processor—but packs it into a body that is 30% smaller.
By pairing this powerhouse body with the premium 24-120mm f/4 "S-Line" zoom lens, you get an incredibly capable "do-it-all" setup. This combination is ready for everything from sweeping landscapes and high-speed sports to detailed portraiture and 8K cinematic video, all without ever needing to change a lens.
Why You'll Love This Kit
-
The Ultimate All-Rounder Lens: The included 24-120mm f/4 is part of Nikon's high-end "S-Line." It delivers stunning edge-to-edge sharpness, minimal distortion, and beautiful contrast across a massive 5x zoom range. The constant f/4 aperture ensures your exposure doesn't change as you zoom from wide-angle to telephoto, making it a dream for both travel photography and run-and-gun video.
-
45.7MP Stacked Sensor: The backside-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor allows for insanely fast readout speeds. This completely eliminates the need for a mechanical shutter, meaning no shutter wear, no shutter shock, and practically zero rolling shutter distortion.
-
Blackout-Free EVF: Because there is no mechanical shutter blocking the sensor, the 3.69m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder provides a completely blackout-free, real-time view of your subject, even when firing at 20 frames per second.
-
Deep-Learning Autofocus: Powered by the EXPEED 7 processor, the autofocus system automatically detects and tenaciously tracks a massive variety of subjects, including people (eyes/faces/torsos), dogs, cats, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, trains, and airplanes.
-
Internal 8K RAW Video: It is a formidable cinema camera, capable of recording 12-bit 8K/60p N-RAW video and 4K/120p video internally, without needing an external recorder.
-
Pre-Release Capture: When you half-press the shutter, the camera constantly buffers images. When you fully press the button, it can save up to a full second of action that happened before you took the shot, ensuring you never miss the decisive moment.

Things to Note
To unlock the absolute maximum performance of the Z8—specifically the 8K RAW video recording and the deepest, fastest continuous burst shooting buffers—you must use high-quality CFexpress Type B memory cards in Slot 1. Relying heavily on the SD card slot (Slot 2) will significantly throttle the camera's speed and video capabilities.
Additionally, because the Z8 packs the massive processing power and video capabilities of the much larger Z9 into a smaller body, battery life is noticeably shorter. If you are shooting an all-day event or recording long takes of 8K video, you will absolutely need to carry spare EN-EL15c batteries. You can find some here & here. Finally, while the 24-120mm f/4 S is an incredibly versatile lens, its f/4 maximum aperture won't provide the extreme background blur or low-light gathering capabilities of a heavier, more expensive f/2.8 zoom.
