Because these binoculars are engineered to be as tiny and lightweight as physically possible, they utilize very small 21mm objective lenses. This results in a small exit pupil, meaning these are strictly a "good weather" or well-lit environment binocular. They perform beautifully during daytime sports, bright concerts, and sunny hikes, but they will struggle to gather enough light if you are trying to view wildlife at dusk or deep under a dark forest canopy.

Secondly, unlike Pentax's heavier SP WP and SD WP series, the lightweight UD series is not fully waterproof. While they can handle everyday use perfectly fine, you will want to tuck them safely inside your jacket or bag if you get caught in a sudden, heavy rainstorm.

Finally, individuals who wear thick eyeglasses should be aware of the short 9.9mm eye relief. To see the entire, un-vignetted field of view, you may need to press the binoculars quite close to your eyeglass lenses.
