Because this is a translucent shoot-through modifier, it inherently scatters light in all directions. While this is fantastic for softly illuminating a subject and filling a dark room with ambient light, it is not ideal if you need precise spill control to keep light off a background. If you need more directional punch and contrast without scattering light behind the flash, a Silver or White bounce umbrella would be a better choice.

Additionally, the 8mm shaft is natively compatible with standard Profoto monolights (like the D2, B10, and B1X). If you intend to use this umbrella with Profoto's smaller, compact A-series speedlights (like the A10 or A2), you will need to mount it using the Profoto Clic OCF Adapter II or a separate umbrella bracket.
