Profoto RFi Speedring Adapter (for Profoto Mount)
The Essential Core of the RFi Softbox System
While Profoto makes RFi speedrings to adapt their softboxes to dozens of third-party flash brands, this specific model is the native, heavy-duty version designed to connect Profoto's highly regarded RFi softboxes directly to their own flash heads.
Utilizing the brand's classic, industry-leading rubber collar and metal clasp system, this adapter slides effortlessly over any standard 100mm Profoto strobe head (like the D2, B1X, or B10). It serves as the incredibly strong, heat-resistant foundation for building out their professional line of rectangular, square, strip, and octagonal softboxes—allowing you to handle massive modifiers securely and position them with absolute precision.
This is a dealer demo, new open-box, and priced accordingly.
Why You'll Love This Speedring
-
Color-Coded Assembly: The black outer ring features clearly painted, color-coded pole sockets (red, blue, green, and white). These match up perfectly with the color-coded metal rods included with Profoto RFi softboxes, eliminating the guesswork and ensuring you build your modifier correctly every time.
-
The Famous Rubber Clasp: Instead of annoying set screws or twist-and-lock mounts that can bind up, this speedring uses Profoto’s heavy-duty rubber collar. Simply slide it onto your flash, flip the metal buckle closed, and it locks down like a vice.
-
360-Degree Rotation: Once the softbox is mounted and the clasp is secured, the design allows you to smoothly rotate the entire modifier a full 360 degrees. This is essential for angling rectangular window-light softboxes or dialing in the exact position of a stripbox.
-
Universal RFi Compatibility: With eight separate sockets, this single speedring natively supports both four-sided (rectangular, square, strip) and eight-sided (Octa) Profoto RFi softboxes. You do not need different rings for different shapes.
-
Built for High Heat: Machined from high-quality aluminum and steel, and coated with heat-resistant lacquer, it is designed to safely withstand the intense, prolonged heat generated by the 500W to 1000W halogen modeling lamps found in traditional studio strobes.

Things to Note
It is important to understand where this speedring fits into the modern Profoto ecosystem. It is designed exclusively for the "RFi" line of softboxes, which are traditional, professional studio softboxes that use separate, removable metal rods that must be assembled by hand.
This speedring is not required (and will not work) with Profoto's "OCF" line of modifiers, nor the newest generation simply named "Profoto Softboxes." Both of those newer modifier lines feature their own integrated, non-removable speedrings built directly into the fabric to allow for umbrella-style, pop-open setups. However, if you are using the heavy-duty, classic RFi softbox line in a studio environment, this speedring is a mandatory piece of hardware.
