Overview:
Engineered for sports, wildlife, and action photographers who demand compromise-free optical performance, the Sony FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS brings G Master image quality and lightning-fast autofocus tracking into a highly portable telephoto zoom package. Designed for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras (and fully compatible with APS-C bodies offering a 150-600mm equivalent reach), this super-telephoto zoom delivers edge-to-edge sharpness throughout its entire focal range.
Key Features:
-
G Master Optical Excellence: Incorporates one Super ED (Extra-low Dispersion) element and two ED glass elements to effectively minimize chromatic aberrations, color fringing, and distortion. Sony’s Nano AR Coating eliminates flare and ghosting for crisp, high-contrast images even under harsh backlit conditions.
-
Rapid & Precise Autofocus: Features a double-motor system—combining a Direct Drive SSM (DDSSM) and a double linear motor—to deliver quiet, highly precise autofocus tracking essential for unpredictable wildlife, fast-moving athletics, and aviation.
-
Optical SteadyShot (OSS) Image Stabilization: Built-in multi-mode image stabilization works seamlessly with your Sony body's in-camera 5-axis stabilization to ensure steady handheld shooting at slow shutter speeds and long focal lengths.
-
Customizable Zoom Torque Adjuster: A tactile smooth/tight ring control allows you to customize the zoom ring friction to match your shooting style or prevent lens creep during travel.
-
Professional Ergonomics & Weather-Sealed Design: Dust and moisture-resistant construction keeps you shooting in challenging outdoor conditions. Includes a focus hold button, focus range limiter switch, and a removable tripod mount with an Arca-Swiss compatible foot.
