While f/4 is perfectly adequate for daytime video, vlogging, and well-lit interiors, it is not the absolute best choice for starry-night astrophotography or extremely dark event venues unless you are willing to push your camera's ISO higher to compensate.

Secondly, to save weight and space, this lens does not feature built-in Optical Image Stabilization (VC). For handheld photography at slow shutter speeds or walking video footage, you will need to rely heavily on your camera body's In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS) or Active Mode stabilization.

Finally, optical purists should be aware that to achieve this unprecedented focal range, the lens relies on digital lens corrections. If you view the uncorrected RAW photo files in editing software that doesn't automatically apply a lens profile, you will notice significant barrel distortion at the 17mm wide end.
