• Solid-State Recording: The HXR-NX5U recorded high-definition (HD) and standard-definition (SD) video onto Memory Stick PRO Duo and SDHC memory cards, eliminating the need for tapes and enabling faster workflows.

• Dual Memory Slots & Relay Recording: It featured two memory card slots, allowing for continuous recording by automatically switching to the second card when the first fills up. This enabled extended recording times for events and documentaries.

• Hybrid Recording: With the optional HXR-FMU128 flash memory unit, you could record simultaneously to the memory cards and the flash unit, either backing up your footage or recording in different formats (e.g., HD and SD).

• Exmor 3 CMOS Sensors: This camera featured three 1/3-inch Exmor CMOS sensors with a ClearVid array, which offered high resolution, good sensitivity, and excellent color reproduction, especially in low light conditions.

• Sony G Lens: The HXR-NX5U was equipped with a high-quality 20x optical zoom G Lens, providing a versatile focal range for various shooting scenarios.
