Canon LC-E6 & LC-E6E Battery Charger
The Essential, Reliable Power Hub for Canon's Most Popular Batteries
For over a decade, the LP-E6 battery family has been the reliable workhorse powering Canon’s most popular enthusiast and professional cameras—from the legendary 5D Mark II DSLR to the cutting-edge EOS R5 Mark II mirrorless body. The Canon LC-E6 Battery Charger is the genuine, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) charging solution engineered specifically to safely and rapidly replenish these high-capacity power packs.
Whether you are charging the original LP-E6, the newer LP-E6NH, or the high-amp LP-E6P, this dedicated wall charger provides the exact voltage and current required to maximize your battery's lifespan. By utilizing a sophisticated internal charging algorithm, it protects your expensive lithium-ion cells from overcharging while restoring power efficiently, ensuring you are always ready for your next portrait session, wedding, or wildlife excursion.
Why You'll Love This Charger
-
Broad Battery Compatibility: This single charger covers an enormous portion of the Canon ecosystem. It flawlessly charges the original LP-E6, the LP-E6N, the high-capacity LP-E6NH, the newest LP-E6P, and the specialized LP-EL flash battery.
-
Genuine OEM Reliability: Because this is an authentic Canon accessory, it is built to exact specifications with high-quality internal circuitry. It guarantees a secure, safe charge, drastically reducing the risk of overheating or damaging your batteries—a common problem associated with cheap, third-party knockoff chargers.
-
Intelligent LED Status Indicator: You never have to guess how much power your battery has. The charger features a highly visible LED lamp that changes its blinking pattern based on the battery's charge level (1 blink per second for 0-49%, 2 blinks for 50-74%, 3 blinks for 75-99%), finally glowing solid green when the battery is at 100%.
-
Rapid Charging Speed: It delivers a robust 1.2A output. It can typically restore a completely dead standard LP-E6 battery to full power in approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, allowing you to quickly cycle through batteries during a long, demanding shoot.
-
Universal Voltage: The charger operates on 100-240 VAC power (50/60 Hz). This means you can safely use it anywhere in the world during your international travels without needing a bulky voltage converter (though you may still need a simple physical plug adapter depending on the country).

Things to Note
The most frequent point of confusion for buyers is understanding the difference between the LC-E6 and the LC-E6E. They are internally identical chargers, but they differ physically in how they connect to the wall:
-
The LC-E6 (typically sold in North America) features built-in, fold-out US-style prongs. It plugs directly into the wall outlet without needing an external cord.
-
The LC-E6E (typically sold in Europe and other international markets) does not have built-in prongs. Instead, it features a standard "figure-8" socket and requires a separate two-prong power cable to connect to the wall.
Secondly, you should be aware of a known, easily fixable "Rapid Blinking Orange Light" error. If you insert a battery that has been sitting unused and fully discharged for many months, the charger's safety mechanism may trigger, causing the orange light to blink rapidly without charging. The fix is simple: Leave the battery in the plugged-in charger for 20 seconds. If it blinks rapidly, remove the battery, wait 10 seconds, and put it back in. Repeat this process until the orange light returns to a slow, steady pulse (indicating normal charging has resumed).
Finally, please note that while this charger natively handles Canon's newest batteries, it will generally refuse to charge cheap, third-party knockoff batteries that lack the proper internal communication chips.
