It will not fit the newer PowerShot G1 X Mark II or Mark III, nor will it fit the smaller G7 X or G5 X camera lines.

Secondly, please be aware that the built-in lens on the PowerShot G1 X does not have standard front filter threads. Because of this unique design, you cannot simply screw a circular polarizer or UV filter onto the front of the camera, nor can you screw a filter onto this lens hood.

If you wish to use standard 58mm glass filters with your PowerShot G1 X, you must purchase the separate Canon FA-DC58C Filter Adapter. The FA-DC58C adapter attaches to the bayonet mount on the camera and provides a 58mm thread. Please note that you cannot use the LH-DC70 Lens Hood and the FA-DC58C Filter Adapter at the same time. You must choose whether to mount the hood or mount the filter adapter for any given shot.
