It is crucial to understand that this adapter is designed exclusively for Sunstar flash heads. While the outer black ring is the standard Profoto RFi design, the inner silver metal collar is machined specifically to fit Sunstar mounts. You cannot use this adapter to mount a softbox onto a Profoto strobe (like a D2 or B1X), a Bowens mount, or an Elinchrom head.

Additionally, this adapter is designed for the RFi line of softboxes (which use separate metal rods). It is not compatible with Profoto's newer "OCF" softboxes or the newest generation of folding "Profoto Softboxes," which feature integrated, non-removable speed rings.
