Nikon Z f Mirrorless Digital Camera with 40mm f/2 (SE) Lens
Iconic Design Powered by Flagship Technology
For creators who loved the vintage aesthetic of the APS-C Nikon Z fc but held out for full-frame performance, the Nikon Z f is the camera you’ve been waiting for. Inspired by the legendary Nikon FM2 film camera from 1982, the Z f is a masterclass in retro design. It features precision-carved brass dials that will develop a beautiful patina over time, a classic pentaprism-style viewfinder housing, and a satisfyingly mechanical shutter sound.
But beneath the nostalgic exterior lies the cutting-edge heart of Nikon’s modern professional lineup. By pairing a 24.5-megapixel BSI full-frame sensor with the blazing-fast EXPEED 7 processor (the same engine found in the flagship Z8 and Z9), the Z f delivers world-class autofocus, 8-stop image stabilization, and stunning low-light capabilities. Packaged with the special edition NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2 (SE) lens—designed specifically to match the camera's retro aesthetic—this kit provides the ultimate blend of classic style and modern substance.
Why You'll Love This Kit
-
Tactile Mechanical Controls: The joy of the Z f is in the shooting experience. Dedicated, machined brass dials on top of the camera give you instant physical control over ISO, shutter speed, and exposure compensation. It also introduces a dedicated Black and White (B&W) selector switch for instant monochrome shooting.
-
The Perfect Everyday Lens: The included 40mm f/2 (SE) is an incredibly versatile prime lens. The 40mm focal length sits perfectly between a wide 35mm and a standard 50mm, making it ideal for street photography, portraits, and everyday carry. The fast f/2 aperture provides excellent low-light performance and beautiful background blur.
-
EXPEED 7 & Deep-Learning AF: The autofocus system is breathtakingly fast. It automatically detects and tenaciously tracks nine different types of subjects, including people, birds, dogs, cats, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, trains, and airplanes.
-
8-Stop In-Body Stabilization: The Z f features Nikon's most advanced In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS) to date, offering an incredible 8 stops of shake correction. Even more impressively, it can link the stabilization directly to your active focus point, ensuring your subject is perfectly sharp even if they are at the very edge of the frame.
-
Class-Leading Low Light: The 24.5MP BSI sensor combined with the EXPEED 7 processor allows the Z f to practically see in the dark, boasting an impressive native ISO range that extends up to 64,000 for incredibly clean images in challenging lighting.
-
Fully Articulating Screen: Breaking from its retro roots just enough to be highly practical, the Z f features a fully articulating touchscreen that flips forward for vlogging or closes completely to protect the screen and enhance the vintage film camera look.

Things to Note
Because the Z f prioritizes its classic, flat-fronted aesthetic, it does not have a deep, pronounced handgrip. If you are attaching larger, heavier telephoto lenses, the camera can feel front-heavy and difficult to hold comfortably with one hand. Smallrig makes an excellent, relatively inexpensive grip extension specifically for the Z f that completely solves this issue without ruining the look, and we are happy to order that for you!
Additionally, to keep the camera body thin, Nikon opted for an unusual memory card configuration: one standard SD card slot and one MicroSD card slot. While this allows you to shoot backups internally.
